Benedictine president/CEO Named One of Minnesota’s Most Powerful Leaders
For the second year in a row, Jerry Carley, Benedictine Health System president /CEO, is featured in the recently released 2019 issue of The Minnesota 500, The Most Powerful Business Leaders in Minnesota. This annual publication, produced by the publisher of Minnesota Monthly magazine, recognizes and celebrates Minnesota’s leading business executives across a variety of industries. Benedictine is one of the largest Catholic providers of senior care and living services in the United States.
A list of over 7,000 Minnesota executives was narrowed down to 500 leaders by the publication’s editors doing their own diligent research. They looked at everything from the impact each executive has on their industry as a whole both in current and prior roles, the success and impact the company has under their leadership, special awards or recognition both in the executives’ professional and/or personal lives, participation in community/philanthropic endeavors, and position on other boards and similar activities.
Carley is one of only 11 health care administration executives to be recognized in this issue. “I am humbled to be chosen for this recognition again,” said Carley. “I have had the privilege of working with a lot of great people over the years. They all share this achievement with me.”
Carley joined Benedictine as a member of the Benedictine Board of Directors and its finance and strategy committees in 2015, and became president/CEO in December 2017. Before joining Benedictine, Carley was the president and CEO of CSJ Initiatives, Inc., a fully integrated senior care company in Wichita, Kansas. Carley also currently serves as a member of the LeadingAge Minnesota board of directors.
