Legislative Update – February 17, 2017
This week saw the Palliative Care bill that CHA-MN supports, take another step in the process. The proposal was heard in the Senate State Government committee. The proposal did have a Delete Everything amendment to put it into the proper construction, but did not make any substantive changes to the proposal. The prospects for this proposal remain good, as there has been little or no opposition to it. – Toby Pearson, CHA-MN

ACA and Medicaid Expansion Alert
The future of our Medicaid funding faces its greatest threat in years. Congress is considering reforms that would further challenge our ability to provide quality care to our poorest residents. These proposals could dramatically reduce funding to the states and eliminate supplemental funding mechanisms.
We rarely ask every member of our entire, nationwide database to get in touch with Congress on an issue. This is one of those times. This is too important. (more…)
